The Prom Coast is one of the most photogenic parts of South Gippsland, with dramatic coastlines, sweeping beaches, rolling green hills, forests, islands and spectacular sunsets. From easy-to-reach viewpoints to short walks and remote coastal locations, there are plenty of places to capture the beauty of the region.

  • Mount Oberon Summit – Wilsons Promontory – Climb to one of the most spectacular viewpoints in Victoria for panoramic views across Wilsons Promontory, Bass Strait and the surrounding islands.
  • Vereker Outlook – Wilsons Promontory – Take the short walk to this elevated viewpoint for beautiful views over the Tidal River area, surrounding bushland and the coastline.
  • Squeaky Beach – Wilsons Promontory – Photograph the famous white quartz sand, turquoise water and granite boulders, with the beach particularly spectacular in the early morning and late afternoon.
  • Norman Beach – Wilsons Promontory – Capture one of the Prom’s most iconic coastal landscapes, with a long sandy beach stretching towards the mountains of Wilsons Promontory.
  • Whisky Bay – Wilsons Promontory – Photograph the dramatic granite boulders, rocky coastline and turquoise water surrounding this beautiful beach.
  • Pillar Point – Wilsons Promontory – Walk to the lookout for elevated views over Norman Beach, Squeaky Beach and the coastline towards Mount Oberon.
  • Lilly Pilly Gully – Wilsons Promontory – Explore the lush forest and surrounding walking tracks for photographs of towering trees, ferns and native wildlife.
  • Big Drift – Wilsons Promontory – Climb the enormous inland sand dunes for a unique landscape unlike anywhere else on the Prom, with spectacular views across the surrounding countryside.
  • Tidal River – Wilsons Promontory – Capture the river, mountains, beaches and surrounding bushland, with early mornings and evenings providing beautiful light and reflections.
  • Eagles Nest – Inverloch – One of the best coastal viewpoints near Inverloch, offering dramatic views over Bass Strait and the striking limestone cliffs of the Bunurong Coast.
  • Bunurong Coastal Drive Lookouts – Stop at the many viewpoints along the road between Inverloch and Cape Paterson for photographs of cliffs, beaches, rock platforms and Bass Strait.
  • Flat Rocks – Inverloch – Photograph the unusual rock formations, tidal pools and marine environment along this fascinating section of the Bunurong Coast.
  • The Caves – Inverloch – Capture the dramatic limestone formations and coastal scenery around The Caves, particularly when the light is low.

  • Port Welshpool Long Jetty – Photograph the historic jetty stretching into Corner Inlet, with the Prom and surrounding islands providing a spectacular backdrop.
